Testimonials
When I was a student I was taught by VSO volunteers. I taught with them. Volunteers leave a lasting memory. They equip people with skills so when they leave the skills remain here. We learn from them and they learn from us - its a shared endeavour.
ROSE KAATH, EDUCATION OFFICER, UPPER WEST GHANAI became completely absorbed in what I was doing, and realised for the first time that I had something to contribute ... it changed my life.
JON SNOW, BROADCASTER AND FORMER VSO VOLUNTEER TEACHER IN UGANDAI've learnt more than I've been able to give and it's an experience that will stay with me for my lifetime. Volunteering certainly affected my outlook and the way I live here. So I’d say that the contribution is not just limited to the two years overseas.
ANNE SANDERSON, FORMER VSO VOLUNTEER OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST IN MALAWIYoung Ghanaians have been inspired by the dedicated work of VSO personnel, often in remote rural areas. They know that there is a wealth of friendship and hospitality and a determination to build a better future. The work of VSO helps to bring that future closer.
VSO PARTNERI think VSO is ‘one of a kind’ and hope that their enviable culture is promoted more and more. Their UK volunteers that I have come in contact with are a rare breed. They do not just volunteer, they go the extra mile and this has endeared them to many of us coming from other parts of the world, especially Africa.
